Your writing is amazing. You forgot about the
"Wagging Arizona". Two "Wags" in two months.
Please see my article - President Obama Does "Wag the Mosque" in a Deflation Economy.
I goes deeper than the fact our president is a liar and apparently wants his breed of socialism to wreck our Constitution and our nation. Xenophobia and a tanking deflation economy go hand-in-hand according to socionomics. It's a waning thing.

If you don't condone marijuana for social use, do you condone it for medical use? Government studies have shown it reduces tumors in the brain as well as breast cancer. It relieves pain in HIV positive victims, and severe arthritis.

Re: the response to Bryson "Another thing, perhaps it’s because I’ve lived longer but I’ve seen the net results of drug use in hundreds of people over decades. Marijuana may not kill, but the quality of life I have observed is far less with than without. Like anything detrimental, it catches up with you over time"

Well I'm 61 yrs. old and I too have seen the net results of DRUG use, in my own family no less, with HARD DRUGS, not pot. I've smoked pot since I was 18 yrs. old with the exception of the several months before, during & after I conceived, got pregnant & delivered my 4 children. I did not smoke at all during these times. I also had my children later than most and had no problems conceiving & delivering. I had my 4 kids when I was 32, 35 and twins when I was 38. All were born healthy. I have no serious health problems, no lung problems, hold down a full time job, raised my 4 kids to be young adults who have graduated college and work. I do community volunteering, am well respected in my community and do not consider myself a drug user. Our own government is the one who labeled marijuana a drug after commissioning many studies that did not coincide with their view on marijuana. They shelved those studies. I have a superior quality of life and who are you to even determine that pot smokers don't have a good quality of life. My life is just fine thank you!

I do not believe that children should smoke pot, on the contrary, I believe that those who would like to indulge should wait till they are at least 18 yrs. old. This lollipipe could only get into the hands of a minor if they could buy it. I have yet to see or hear about drug dealers passing these out in schoolyards and I work in a public school. Of course some twisted person could give it to a minor, but the same could be said about beer, alcohol. As a matter of fact the first illegal substance a minor will partake in is alcohol because it is readily available most homes.

I would like to say that everyone who I know who has been smoking as long as I have is in great health, no lung cancer, no deaths due to smoking weed. I have, however, lost several friends who smoked cigarettes to cancer. In addition, my regular doctor who has tended to me for over 33 years, and who is also a well-known & well-respected oncologist here in Boston (cancer dr. for those who don't know waht an oncologist is) told me he was not concerned with my pot smoking, only if I smoked cigarettes. So what does that tell you?

I think everyone is on board with the fact that kids should be sheltered from drugs, but this is a parent's job and always has been. There are many inappropriate things out there for kids to see such as t.v. programming, movies, and let's not forget about some of the skimpy clothing that middle school girls are wearing (and who is buying these revealing clothes....their parents, that's who).

Sam,

To be clear, you think that a politician avoiding answering questions from constituents on a critical piece of legislation is a good thing?

Further, you believe that issuing boilerplate responses, from 6 months earlier, is a benificial manner to conduct matters of State and legislation with regard to voter concerns?

If that is what you mean by "well done", then I understand your choice of vote. Of course it is your vote, and you may choose to use it however you wish.

I just want to understand how the actions described above qualify as a positive - which you failed to comment on. But to be fair, the above post is only part of the commentary on Senator Gillibrand's response. Though I have provided the other portion of the commentary on the post on this blog as well. Which you failed to comment about at all.

me,

I have taken into account the military spending in total. Even with the increases of the Obama Administration on top of the wasteful spending of the Bush Administration.

Which does not alter who this targets, the misconceptions it promotes, or the ABSOLUTE fallacy that the Government was ever intended to "take care of us".

Allen,

Not JUST the video, but it does it's share to help. I believe the philosophy behind those that made this videio and truly believe these thoughts are destroying America. Or at least they would like to.

I feel the video is doing far more than that. Especially when you consider this was not targeted to adults, but to children in school. Were it presented to adults I might agree, but since it was to kids as part of their curriculum, I call that propoganda and warping the views they will grow to have.

I think it's interesting that you would claim that the video is turning us into America-haters. The video is only attacking the way we as American's consume products and to equate this with attacking America itself is just proving one of her points: that our consumption is too much a part of how we identify ourselves and our country.

Furthermore, the video doesn't advocate overthrowing a democratic government in favor of a communist or socialist one. Instead it asks the citizens of our country (NOT the government) to take a look at how we get our products and make a change to that system ... which seems to be a pretty democratic way to go about the matter.

Now, I don't know the facts on U.S. military spending but that's a completely different argument that doesn't even belong in the video and I'm kinda surprised that it's in there. So yeah, the video isn't perfect, but don't write the whole thing off as anti-American.

Glan,

And how does the year change a child from getting on drugs?

Let me go another way with this. So the increase in drug use from 1960 til today has been beneficial to whom? How many lives have been destroyed by drugs over the decades? So according to you, since it is 2009, kids getting hooked on drugs is ok?
