Polls and facts equal a negative view of President Obama

You know, I find it amazing what polls tend to say about America. Obviously most polls are inaccurate and must be taken with a grain of salt. But when you combine the results of continuous polling and facts that exist, you get a clear idea of what is going on.

For example, there is the fact that 97% of all campaign promises made by President Obama are currently ignored, broken, stalled, or otherwise unfulfilled. When you combine that with the fact that President Obama campaigned as a moderate voice in the Democrat Party, and then add in the Laws, Bills, and proposed programs since his election you get a very different picture of the Presidency. Which is reflected in the polls.

As of the 17th of August, 42% of Americans realize that their taxes will likely go up due to the Obama Administration. Just 6% believe that taxes will go down. Which flies in the face of the campaign promise made by President Obama to cut taxes for 95% of Americans. Perhaps the fact that he voted to increase the taxes of Americans making as little as $31,850 as a Senator had something to do with it. More likely it has been the realization that the $787 billion Obama Stimulus, the $410 Government Spending Bill, and the $3.5 trillion budget require more money that current taxes will ever pay back, even if we were not in a recession. Which says nothing of the cost of a $1.5 trillion Health Care Reform, or the 2.5% tax penalty for those that refuse the new Government run program.

Still I would love to hear from the 6% that think they will be getting a tax cut.

Another interesting poll is the fact that 70% believe that spending will increase in the Obama Administration. That number is not surprising, it’s the fact that there is some 30% that still don’t see what has happened. The abovementioned items combine to be nearly $7 trillion, and we are only 8 months into the Obama Administration. And he has another 374 out of 515 campaign promises he has yet to touch in any form.

Along these same lines are the poll results that show only 71% President Obama’s polices have increased the deficit, and 76% believe that President Obama is a Liberal. What is going on in the minds of those that have the opposing view?

I have stated early in the 2008 election campaign that President Obama is a Liberal, extremely so in my view, and that he will be responsible for massive increases for taxes of not only the middle class but lower incomes as well. I have long stated that I believe his voting record and pre-election speeches clearly define his political views and likely impact on the nation. But the media love affair and general salesmanship of President Obama got him elected anyway.

Right now 54% of Americans believe that a middle class tax cut is more vital to the nation than the proposed Health Care Reform – in any form. Yet President Obama is driving the message that without Health Care Reform, right now, the economy will fail. Which were the exact same words of President Clinton in 1993. Which was the exact same reasoning why we needed the $787 billion Stimulus package.

And do remember that the Obama Stimulus has failed in every aspect of what was told to the American people. It is not immediate – only some $75 billion has been spent to date and by the end of 2011 it will not have exceeded the 25% level. It did not limit unemployment – it was promised to keep unemployment at 8.5%, and currently it is at 9.5% with expectations to exceed 10% this year and possibly 11.5% in 2011. In fact the unemployment levels would have been better, according to President Obama’s own figures, if nothing was done (by 1 million or so jobs and people employed). It has provided numerous jobs for people that do not qualify as 1 week of full employment (many of the jobs are for 35 hours only – not per week, just 35 hours in total).

All of this says nothing of the issue not yet polled, Capo & Trade. Which is part of the effort President Obama has directly stated in the past to force Americans to conserve energy due to the high cost of energy. Effectively that means that businesses and Average Citizens will face skyrocketing prices for electricity and heating. The goal is to make it so expensive that it cannot be afforded thus making all use less. Of course that may well lead to what a friend of mine concluded

“So that means that for all those elderly people in the South, during a heat wave, they won’t be able to turn on an air conditioner because they can’t afford the bill? That includes kids too. And in the North, during winter families will freeze to death because they can’t afford to heat their homes? Did they think of this consequence at all?”

Yes they did. President Obama just isn’t talking about it. And when he has, he has phrased it only in terms of the benefit of global warming prevention. Which most of the major media has yet to question, though an ordinary American figured out the problems with this in 45 seconds.

Do you think that polls for this will be negative too? Do you think that the approval rating of President Obama might be going far lower very soon? Do those that voted for President Obama still think he is the political messiah he was lauded to be by the majority of the media?

I find it mildly amusing that polls and facts are starting to coincide. But I wonder how much of this is going to be reflected in the mid-term elections? Already politicians are gearing up for the election cycle. The polispeak is beginning to flow. And new interpretations of facts are being spouted.

I just can’t wait to see what the polls look like if Health Care Reform is shoved through Congress (which the Democrat majority can do as they did with the Stimulus and Budget). And if Cap & Trade is passed. And the unemployment rate hits 10% or higher. And the 4th quarter sales are abomnible. Because polls are starting to match facts, something even the polispeak of the President cannot smother.
